Medicine apps shouldn't make taking medicine harder

Many people rely on a reminder app every day. Then a reminder arrives with a video ad attached, or the app suddenly asks you to pay before it will show your own history, or your phone quietly stops the app overnight and the reminder never comes. Dawakara is built to fix exactly those problems.

No ads, ever.

Nothing gets between you and your reminder.

Your history is yours.

Your medicine list and dose log are stored on your phone, and you can export them any time.

Built for real phones.

Step-by-step setup for the phones that are known to stop reminders in the background.

Set up in three steps

1

Add a medicine.

Name, strength and when you take it: daily, every few hours, certain days, cycles or as needed.

2

Set up your phone.

Dawakara shows the exact settings for your phone brand, then sends a test reminder so you can see it working.

3

Tap Taken.

The reminder keeps ringing until you tap Taken, Skip or Snooze. Every dose is saved in your log.

Look after Ammi from another city or another country

With Dawakara Family, an optional subscription, you can link your phone with a parent's or partner's phone. If a dose is missed, or a medicine is running low, you get a gentle heads-up, wherever you are. You can see today's schedule and the dose log for the people in your family group.

  • Link phones with a QR code. No email or password needed.
  • Missed-dose and low-refill alerts for caregivers.
  • The same profile on more than one phone.
  • Encrypted backup, so you can restore everything on a new phone.
  • End-to-end encrypted: our server passes along locked messages it cannot read.

Reminders, the dose log, refill alerts, reports and up to two profiles on one phone work without a subscription and without an account. Payments for Dawakara Family are handled by the app store.

Reminders that work on your phone, not just in theory

To save battery, some phone brands stop apps running in the background, and that can delay or block reminders from any app. Dawakara checks your phone brand and walks you through the right settings for Samsung, Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO, Oppo, realme, Vivo, OnePlus, Huawei, Honor, Tecno and Infinix. Then it sends a test reminder so you can see it arrive with the screen locked. If your phone ever blocks a reminder, Dawakara tells you and shows you how to fix it.

Reminder timing depends on your phone's settings and operating system. Dawakara will ask permission to use exact alarms; if you don't allow it, reminders may arrive a few minutes late.

Questions

Do I need an account?

No. Dawakara works without an account. Family mode links phones with a QR code instead of an email and password.

Does Dawakara work offline?

Yes. Reminders, the dose log, refill alerts and reports all work with no internet connection. Family mode needs a connection to send alerts between phones.

Where is my information stored?

On your phone, in an encrypted database. If you use Family mode, an encrypted copy is sent through our server so your family's phones can stay in sync. It is encrypted on your phone first, so we can't read it.

Are there ads?

No. Dawakara has no ads and no advertising or tracking tools.

What is Dawakara Family?

An optional subscription for caregivers and families: linked phones, missed-dose and low-refill alerts, multi-phone sync and encrypted backup. Payments are handled by the app store, and you can manage or cancel there at any time.

Will the features I use now be taken away later?

No. The core features (reminders, dose log, refill alerts, reports and two profiles on one phone) will continue to work without a subscription.

Why didn't my reminder ring?

Usually it's your phone's battery settings. Open Dawakara → Settings → Reminder check-up, or see our phone setup guides.

Does Dawakara tell me what dose to take?

No. Dawakara only reminds you about what you enter. It does not give medical advice. Always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions. See our Medical Disclaimer.

Can I use it for my parents or children?

Yes. Add a profile for them on your phone, or link their phone with Family mode.

Is it available on iPhone?

Not yet. Dawakara is launching on Android first. Join the waitlist and we'll let you know.

How do I move to a new phone?

Export an encrypted backup file from Settings and import it on your new phone. With Family mode, restore from your encrypted cloud backup.

How do I delete my data?

Uninstalling Dawakara deletes everything stored on your phone. To delete Family data from our server, use Settings → Privacy → Delete my cloud data, or visit dawakara.com/delete.
